The new ELISPOT system from Syngene
ELISPOT assay, which is the abbreviation for 'enzyme-linked immunospot assay, is used to determine cytokine secretion by individual B-cells or T-cells following in vitro stimulation with a specific antigen. This provides a measure of cytotoxic activity in viral, bacterial and tumor
studies.
This particular assay is used regularly in the research of the HIV and AIDS viruses. The Elispot system is a purpose built instrument that rapidly process plates [ 96 well microtitre plates] providing full imaging and analysis functions.
